Traveling around Europe in winter.

About a year ago Bram and I were gallivanting around Europe having the time of our lives. This year Loren is going the same time we went last year and to many of the same places.Traveling around Europe in winter is great for two reasons: 1. Fewer tourists. The best way to not get a sense of the culture of any destination is to be surrounded by other tourists. 2. Off season rates. You can save money on hostels, as well as all the attractions. So here is a little recap of our trip...

LONDON

eat here: TAS Restaurant

delicious and cheap Anatolian food. This place is right around the corner from the Globe theater.

HYDE PARK

The park is huge, we spent a lot of time here. Watching people and geese.

WARNING! Even though the phone booths are iconic and cute, do not go inside them. I wanted to get a picture in one because it is so "London" as soon as I stepped inside I realized why I never see people in them, they smell awful! People definitely pee in them...gross.

Of course when you visit London you have to see the famous bridge, which many people (Bram and I included) think is named "London Bridge"...wrong! This is Tower Bridge...

You can get a great view of Tower Bridge from the less exciting London Bridge. There is also a nice walkway from London Bridge to Tower Bridge.

Try to see everything in the day and at night, it is cool to see the buildings all lit up.

to be continued...
